Ok, sometimes a restaurant is really good...one time...then the next time....meh.... Well I am happy to report that we had to check Dorsia again. We went with another couple and it was just as good! You know when you recommend a restaurant you hope that the recomendees(?) enjoy it as you feel responsible, well, they loved it also....and want to go again before the "Summer Menu" is over.

I had the peanut butter soup... with smoked duck and mashed squash. Then the red snapper with violets and pine nuts. But honestly I had the octopus to start, it was great, then the broccoli raab, it was good, along with the lamb chops which were great. Ended my night with a manhattan that wasn't too sweet, and was properly chilled served up. It's location isn't stellar but the food is what you're here for.

I absolutely love this place. I have been wanting to try this restaurant for ages now and I really think this could be my new favorite italian restaurant. As soon as you walk in the ambiance and the decor is lovely and really sophisticated and classy. It isn't a huge restaurant which is nice, its small and quaint. We got there at around 6:30/7 and it started getting super busy around 7:30. The champagne was delicious. We had a couple of bottles and we had the grilled calamari and zucchini blossoms for an appetizer which were amazing. My mother and my aunt had never had zucchini blossoms before and they just went on and on about how amazing they were. Also the grilled calamari was soooooo amazing. This is definitely the best way to eat calamari rather than getting in fried. Be sure to ask for a side of cocktail sauce...I like dipping it in cocktail sauce, but its great without it as well!!!!! I love the olives they give to you when you sit down, its something nice and salty to snack on. I really enjoyed the service. Our waiter was a guy from Greece and he wasn't annoying by checking on us every second and interrupting our conversations, he let us take our time and enjoy our appetizers and our conversations before we ordered our entrees which is what my family and I like. For dinner my got the almadine Trout which came with veggies and roasted potatoes. My mom absolutely loooooooved it she ate the ENTIRE thing, I took a bite as well and I would definitely recommend getting it. My aunt ordered the Salmon and she as well absolutely loved it and ate the entire thing. I ordered the Dorsia salad with shrimp and it was simply marvelous, I ate the entire thing and was super full afterwards. Overall this was an amazing experience. I really love this restaurant and I seriously cannot wait to come back to this restaurant and try even more of this amazing food. I noticed on their menu that they have fresh made pasta and so i definitely recommend someone who is into pasta to come here and try it out.

I was going to stay home and wait for my fiance to call, but when my best friend's fiance said we could get in here, I couldn't say no. It looks exactly like Barcadia on the inside, but I could be wrong, I was on a lot of lithium. Oh well, the peanut butter soup with smoked duck definitely was a playful little dish, and I also enjoyed the red snapper with violets abd pine nuts. Sorry I passed out on my plate before I could really enjoy the ambiance.

We were so excited to order the burratta only to find out they ran out of it. 3 hours into opening for dinner they ran out of food! Then during dinner we ordered 3 sides, one of which was mashed potatoes. They ran out of mashed potatoes, and our server forgot to put in the order for the other 2 sides! So we got no sides. He was really old so we didn't make a fuss about it. For the prices this place charges, one expects a more upscale experience. It definitely wasn't. I'll give it 3 stars because whatever food we did end up getting tasted good. Considering he forgot to place the order with the kitchen for our sides, we thought he might comp our dessert or something, but that didn't happen. Our whole family was disappointed with the over all experience.

This restaurant is lovely. My mom and I had been passing by for a while since we live nearby and were dying to try it. The ambiance is classy and comfortable. They have really neat chandeliers that are cool to look at The service is great. Friendly and accommodating. ("If there's something that you want but don't see on the menu, just ask and we can probably make it for you!") But... THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE! The specials are flavorful and exciting, and nothing beats homemade pasta!! I've been here twice and ordered the papardelle and the lasagna, both were fantastic. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. I'd say it's on the pricier side, but it's worth it.

The delicious bread comes with a small bowl of fresh olives & olive oil to dip. Great start! The appetizer we ordered was whole bellied baked clams. Perfection. I had the spinach & ricotta gnocchi & my daughter had the home made pappardelle & I tried that as well & both amazing (melt in your mouth). Desert apple strudel w a scoop of vanilla. The meal was to die for & we will definitely be back!! The owner Tony made us feel like family and the waiter Jeff ran after us b/c he wanted to give us a try of the PB chocolate cheesecake. Since we were stuffed he gave it to us to take home for later! LOVED this place! I'm getting hungry just editing my review!!!

So many Italian/Continental restaurants in Boca, so why choose Dorsia? Let me count the ways. 1. Attractive jewel-box of a restaurant. (OK, but how about the food). 2. Professional management and eager-to-please professional (he means no kids) waitstaff. (OK, already, talk about the food. 3. Middle of the road prices, just what you'd expect in a restaurant this good (It's getting interesting). 4. Did I say it's not noisy? (Oh what a relief it is to be able to talk without shouting. (I'm getting to the food...patience). 5. The menu...everything from melt-in-your-mouth ricotta stuffed zucchini flowers, to goatcheese/mushroom filled chicken, to remarkable bucatini, finished off with house-made cheesecake and mousse cake (screw the diet). So what are you waiting for? Call them already and then YOU talk about it. I'm busy making our next reservation.
Everything was outstanding! Our waiter Alex made excellent recommendations - and got us started with 2 excellent wines by the glass. The spinach, pear and walnut salad was great, the Halibut was delicious and the burnt broccoli was unbelievable! We can't wait to come back and sample more of the menu!!!

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

This restaurant was a disappointment on almost every level. Service was very slow and inattentive. Dinner took almost an hour to arrive. Entrées for our party of eleven ranged from forgettable to poor. My litmus test for an Italian restaurant is its lasagna, and Dorsia's was a three out of ten. Pathetic, in my opinion. Prices were not out of line, but a poor value for what we received.

Three stars for service, decor and quietness. The food does not measure up. My pasta had so many chunks Of garlic that we're not well cooked, that it was like eating a garlic clove. And the red sauce was bland; needed basil, sautéed garlic, etc. My wife had a pesto sauce that so weak she thought there was no basil, pine nuts, pecorino cheese. This is no worse than other Italian restaurants in Boca. You can't get good Italian food. I'll wait 'till I visit New York.

I celebrated my 54th birthday there last night. I was clearly the youngest person in the place. From an ambiance standpoint, this place is stuck in the 80's...and clearly so is the menu. It was really hilarious that they have their own dedicated parking lot, which at most is probably 30 feet by 30 feet..yet they have a valet!??? He actually had to walk further from his valet stand to meet the car, than he did from where our car was parked (10 feet from the door) to the door. It is really a funny sight in such a microscopic parking lot. We were brusquely greeted by the "hostess" when we arrived at 5:30 to an empty restaurant. "It will be full in an hour" she quipped. So our party got to sit in a hot empty dark restaurant listening to someone pound veal in the back (I hope that's what it was) and the waiters talk and stand around doing nothing. We brought some sparkling wine and asked for it to be chilled in a wine bucket...they have none. They served the water in some refrigerated grolsh bottles...when we asked for ice for our water, that's what the waiter brought...I cup with ice. The menu is dated, unimaginative and unexciting by todays standards. The usual fare you would expect from a typical old school continental/Italian restaurant. I ordered the grilled romaine salad..something I have enjoyed in other restaurants, and have made at home...what I got was a plate of soggy boiled lettuce, that was grilled and then slathered with a balsamic reduction so acidic my first taste made me choke. Honestly, it was like eating limp watery bok choy, not a crisp wedge of romaine that when properly grilled (not boiled) takes on an amazingly sweet char flavor. My entrée was no better. The papardelle with porcini mushrooms was a major disappointment...clearly rehydrated dried mushrooms were chewy and floating in a watery tomato sauce. No seasoning, no flavor, no al dente pasta. My son ordered sweet potato gnocci with sage. The dish was so loaded with chopped and whole sage leaves and floating in oil, the gnocci were inedible. A stuffed chicken breast was dry and overcooked, and the fried oyster appetizer tasted horribly..no crunch, no sweet oyster taste, but a fishy, mushy fried globule. It became apparent to me that this place is stuck in a time warp. Like many a PBC continental restaurant, it's patrons are not looking for food excellence. Rather a nice comfortable place where they can hold on to the feeling of the old days. No doubt the place is filled with the same old regulars who have likely been coming for some time, have no expectations regarding food quality or service. With so many new and exciting places opening in Boca and PBC, why anyone (under 60) would patronize this place is beyond me.
